House Rules
The following house rules are established to ensure a safe, respectful, and peaceful environment for all residents, staff, and guests of U & I Home Care:
- Smoking is only allowed in designated areas. U & I Home Care is a smoke-free home.
- Firearms or weapons of any kind are prohibited on premises.
- No illegal drugs or alcohol allowed in the home by residents or guests.
- Residents must adhere to physician’s orders for medications.
- We are not responsible for medication costs.
- We are not responsible for resident bills.
- Residents may use the house phone. Private phones must be paid for by the resident/family/guardian.
- Residents must maintain good personal hygiene at all times.
- Bathing is required at least once per week with clean clothes afterward.
- Residents must not enter other residents’ rooms without permission.
- Respect and consideration for others are expected at all times.
- No stealing, swearing, hitting, screaming, or threatening behavior is tolerated.
- No verbal or physical abuse toward residents, staff, or visitors.
- Dress appropriately when outside of the bedroom.
- Living room seating is first-come, not assigned.
- Quiet time is from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
- When leaving the house, inform staff where, how, and when you’ll return to ensure safety and medication adherence.
- We do not cook pork or shellfish. Families may bring it. Alert staff if allergic to shellfish.
- Bedroom inspections may occur. No storing soda/juice bottles. Only cans are allowed.
- Residents must participate in fire and evacuation drills.
Residents are expected to comply with these rules. Failure to comply may result in a warning or removal with immediate or 30-day notice, depending on the severity.
