House Rules

The following house rules are established to ensure a safe, respectful, and peaceful environment for all residents, staff, and guests of U & I Home Care:

  1. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas. U & I Home Care is a smoke-free home.
  2. Firearms or weapons of any kind are prohibited on premises.
  3. No illegal drugs or alcohol allowed in the home by residents or guests.
  4. Residents must adhere to physician’s orders for medications.
  5. We are not responsible for medication costs.
  6. We are not responsible for resident bills.
  7. Residents may use the house phone. Private phones must be paid for by the resident/family/guardian.
  8. Residents must maintain good personal hygiene at all times.
  9. Bathing is required at least once per week with clean clothes afterward.
  10. Residents must not enter other residents’ rooms without permission.
  11. Respect and consideration for others are expected at all times.
  12. No stealing, swearing, hitting, screaming, or threatening behavior is tolerated.
  13. No verbal or physical abuse toward residents, staff, or visitors.
  14. Dress appropriately when outside of the bedroom.
  15. Living room seating is first-come, not assigned.
  16. Quiet time is from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  17. When leaving the house, inform staff where, how, and when you’ll return to ensure safety and medication adherence.
  18. We do not cook pork or shellfish. Families may bring it. Alert staff if allergic to shellfish.
  19. Bedroom inspections may occur. No storing soda/juice bottles. Only cans are allowed.
  20. Residents must participate in fire and evacuation drills.

Residents are expected to comply with these rules. Failure to comply may result in a warning or removal with immediate or 30-day notice, depending on the severity.
